Today I’ll show you my Liptauer recipe. I really like Liptauer. Homemade cheese tastes best.

I prefer to refine this spread with crispy herbs and short fried vegetables.  

The Liptauer is a classic spread from Austria and resembles the Obazda from Bavaria. All these spreads, like the potato cheese, the vegan lard and the herb quark, go well with a good snack and bring variety for dinner.

Vegan Lard Recipe, Onion Melt and Vegetarian Lard simply tastefully prepare

Today I’ll show you my recipe Vegan Lard. Vegan lard tastes delicious, the herbs and onions are tastefully excellent with coconut fat. In some regions this preparation is known as onion melt. 

So that the vegan lard can keep up with the animal lard, I add many roasted onions and plenty of marjoram or oregano.

What do I personally like about this lard? It goes fast, very fast, the vegetarian lard can be kept in the fridge for many days. Coconut fat is also extremely healthy. Use a chilled organic coconut fat with a little coconut taste. The inexpensive alternative is a commercially available coconut fat, which is partially “naturally” hardened. 

The vegan lard goes well with a good snack. Also other delicious vegetarian spreads, like the potato cheese, the Liptauer, the Obazda and the herb quark bring variety at dinner.

Today I show you my recipe Obazda. The Bavarian cheese preparation Obatzter also appears in the spelling Obatzda or Obazda.

The “Angebatzter, Angedrückter, Vermischter” cheese has a long tradition in Bavaria. In Franconia the spicy cheese is called “Gerupfter” or “Angemachter”, in Switzerland “Gmanschter”.

A bit of history about the famous cheese: According to various sources, the landlady Katharina Eisenreich served the obazden for the first time in the Weihenstephaner Bräustüberl in Freising in the 1920s.

Many tourists know Obazda from the Oktoberfest. In the article I show the preparation of Bavarian Obazda according to my family recipe.

Apricot Jam Recipe and how Jam makes it to the Wall at my Place

Today I present you my Apricot Jam recipe. Apricots are a welcome addition to my breakfast table. Apricot jam is a fine fruit spread without a long shelf life.

The sugaring of jam is a NoGo for me, because nowadays I don’t cook for a year or longer, but for the pleasure of the fruit and the homemade.

I only use raw cane sugar for my jam. I like this sugar because it comes to us unrefined.

My apricot jam, which is called apricot jam in Bavaria and Austria, can be kept in the refrigerator for about 6-8 weeks.

Let’s see how long the jam stays with you in the fridge, mine is mostly eaten after 2 weeks.
